Bengaluru Habba

Hi All,

Happy Monday.

7th edition of Bengaluru Habba is back in the city.

'Habba' in Kannada means 'Festival'. Dec 11 to 20th this three-week-long festival promises to offer everyone an exciting cultural experience.

The Habba is promoted by Artists Foundation for Arts (AFFA), formed in 2002, to bring performing arts to the public. Events will include music, dance, film panorama, street theatre, adventure sports, a golf tournament, tennis ball cricket tournament, pulling race, vintage car rally. Apart from art, the Haba has eat outs, shopping and also film elements.

This year the Habba will have more than 50 performances in various parts of the city including Palace Grounds, Cubbon Park, Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Seva Sadan and even BBMP Parks. Public can watch the events for free.

Luckily I got VIP passes for Sri Praveen Godkhindi, Pt. Jasaraj, Pt. Balamuralikrishna programmes at Chowdiah memorial hall.

Eat Healthy Live Better

Today Nov. 14th is World Diabetes Day – a day to think why India has become the diabetic capital of the world. Its all because rapidly changing imbalanced dietary habits, and life style both in rural and urban areas.

Let's we all put effort to prevent diabetes by adopting a healthy lifestyle of eating multigrain, fiber rich food and avoiding excess fried fatty foods, sweets and starches, and maintain a normal weight with a regular exrecise routine can prevent or postpone the diabetes.

Today Nov. 14th Children's Day is to celebrate "childhood". Children are loved by one and all. They win over our hearts with their angelic eyes and innocent smiles. It makes one realise that maybe that’s the way God wanted us to be. Childerns are full of energy and, and I strongly feel we learn lots of things from kids.

Number of childerns suffering from diabetes has incresed a lot in recent years so mothers got biggest challenge to maintain good food habit for child with proper diet plan.

Lets we hope on this childern's day all childerns will get a proper education, and nutritious food, so we can build a better and healthy society.
Everyone wants to go back to childhood that wonderfull world............Be a child......
Happy Childern's Day.

Warli Painting

Warli art is an ancient Indian folk painting of a Maharashtrian tribe called Warli.

This folk painting drawn by tribals on mud walls. Rice paste and straw are the main materials used for making Warli paintings.
Their major designs include the harvest season, celebration, wedding, rituals and births. The Warli houses also see a pattern in decoration and designs. The Warli art has a special characteristic of representing the humble life of the Warli tribe.

The trademark of Warli paintings is the use of geometric designs such as triangles, circles, squares, dots and crooked lines are used to depict human figures, animal figures, houses, crops etc.

Warli painting needs only one colour WHITE.
I tried this on a pot. This is my first warli painting, here I retained original red mud colour of pot and using white fabric paint i painted one of the warli dance form.

Hope you all liked this.

I went and brought a drawing book and started drawing all cartoons like pokemen, ballonman, kitty, paru, ele, Alex, and my one more favorite character kung-fu-panda, soon it filled with many cartoon characters.
Thats how my drawing journey began...............
Following are the Tom and Jerry, drawn and coloured with cryons.

Following image is example for pencil sketch. I downloaded this from net. when I saw this, became speechless, next minute decide to learn this sketching techniques, so recently(since 15 days) I joined for pencil sketch classes, it may take few months for me to learn.

I believe Everyone is an artist and every individual has got creativity. Now I strongly believe that,"we can never accomplish anything untill we begin...."

Diya Painting

Diya is small traditional lamp made up of mud or clay. Ghee or oil is used as the fuel and cotton wool as the wick. Illuminitating Diyas outside houses is the most common scene in deepavali. We call this in kannada 'Pranathi'. Different kinds of diyas available in the maraket and in a different shapes even in shape of Ganesha, paravathi too. With increasing competition and due to the popularity of candles, diya is now available in a variety of material, and shapes. Designer diyas have also been introduced in the stores.
I gone mad while shopping for diyas I just picked many diyas whichever come in my way. I brought most of the simple clay diya so that I can paint and decorate myself in home. These are some of my diya collections.
Diya decoration is common practice during festival. you can decorate these diyas with miror, kundan, lace, stones, dried flowers. Here I painted these diyas with acrylic color, pearl fabric colours, any one can do this, following are some of the diyas I coloured with some basic colours.

I really enjoyed colouring these diyas, if you are not good at painting, you can even decorate with sticking a mirror, stones, kundan, lace, when you light a lamp nice sparkle will be around the house.

Too much of diya painting..... so I will come up with some more.

Hope you all liked this.

Comments please. :)
